In the Gospel last weekend, Peter was chided by Jesus Christ for not having sufficient faith. He was asked why he doubted. This weekend, we are told of a woman of great faith. She came to Jesus on behalf of her daughter, who was being tormented by a demon. Despite his attempts at discouraging her, the woman was resolute and persisted in her request. Before granting her request, Jesus commended her for her great faith. She did not even care when Jesus seemed to ridicule her. All she knew was that if she persisted long enough, her request would be granted. Let us learn from this woman whenever we pray to God. Never give up on God. He will answer you when the time is right.
