Young Vincentians are young members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul who also seek to grow closer to God by service to others. We participate through prayer as well as by participating in projects that assist the poor in some way. Each month, the Young Vincentians will meet to provide service to the poor.
We strive to provide opportunities for our students to help those in need within our community and surrounding areas. Our activities help our young members increase their awareness of those not only in financial need but also those poor in spirit.
As an active group serving our community our meeting locations vary. Normal meetings are held at SPPCS but we go where there is need. Our service locations. Typical locations include Oak Hill, Ruma, Cairo, Rock Church (St. Louis), yard clean up in Waterloo, UCC Free Meals on Monday
Meeting times are the first Sunday of the month unless there is a holiday/school conflict. We typically do not meet in January, March, June, Sept.
Depending on the activity, ages of those participating can range anywhere from 3rd grade to adults. Usually 8th graders attend as it serves as an opportunity to fulfill their experiences for Confirmation. Parents are always welcome to stay and help with our activities. Our main source of communication is through Fast Direct, the PSR email distribution list, parish bulletin
